Francesco Balsamo (Catania 1969) He lives and works in Sicily. He studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti of Milan, Brera, and Catania, and the Faculty of Arts, University of Catania. Performs the activity of drawing and writing poetry. From 2004 he exhibited in group and solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad. Among the winners of Eugenio Montale in 2001 - unpublished section - with the "Shadow hanging on a nail". In 2002 he received the prize Sandro Penna, for the unpublished, with talk of the tree to its leaves. Some of his poems have been published in magazines: Hortus (Grottammare 2004), Tales of Luvi (Palermo 2004), Poets and Poetry (Rome 2004), Small Hours (Piacenza 2007), and anthologies: Center Montale - Twenty years of poetry (Florence 2001), there are still fireflies (Milan 2004), ten poems translated into Polish in the community "Poeti vulcani" and Poetry - poets born in the sixties - (Rome 2007). One of his collection has been translated and published in Finnish in Helsinki in 2004. (Messina 2006).
