GAULI Piero, Head, ceramic, cm 18 Piero Gauli (Milan 1916). He studied engineering and after architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture in Venice, was designer and theater performer since the beginning by making its entry into the world of art. Has worked over the years, including Milan, Verna in Val d'Intelvi, land of origin of the father, but probably the place to which Gauli has remained linked is Umbria. In 1938 his first official exhibition as a painter at the University Triveneta Exhibition in Milan in 1940 he joined the group of current art magazine. The war led him to the Russian front and to be desporto in a Polish concentration camp, on his return devoted to ceramic art, architecture and interior design of furniture.
In 1947 is the first personal exhibition on the national
scene for over seventy years and today throughout Italy its exhibitions
have been about 150. Gauli can be declared a complete artist that
crosses across the visual arts and applied even though the paintings,
the watercolors in particular, is the field which is more linked his
name.
Museum of Piero
Gauli, Avigliano Umbro, Hosted in the former elementary school
Dunarobba, houses works by the artist and ceramist Piero Gauli (1916),
linked to the movement arose in 1938, around the journal "Current".
